Kevin Hastings

Attorney Kevin HastingsKevin M. Hastings was born and raised in a family of commercial fisherman in Blaine, Washington, a sleepy town on the Canadian border. Kevin was inspired to become a lawyer when his uncle suffered catastrophic injury while fishing in the Bering Sea. Having commercially fished himself, Kevin knew that he would fulfill his dream only through hard work and perseverance in tough conditions.

Kevin went to college at the University of Washington, where he graduated with a degree from the Henry M. Jackson School of International Studies. From there, he took a year off from his studies to save money for law school. He ultimately fulfilled his dream of being a lawyer, graduating with honors from Seattle University School of Law in 2009.

Kevin started his legal career as a judicial law clerk for Judge C.C. Bridgewater and Judge Jill Johanson at the Washington State Court of Appeals. Through his work at the court, Kevin gained valuable insight into the judicial system and honed fundamental lawyering skills. After his clerkship, Kevin joined PCVA so that he could do what inspired him to become a lawyer: help those who have unnecessarily suffered from the wrongful acts of others.

Kevin is a member of the William Dwyer Inns of Court, an organization committed to improving the skills, professionalism, and ethics of the legal profession. He also sits as a judge for Seattle University School of Law’s mock trial competitions. In his spare time, Kevin enjoys snowboarding, cycling, hunting big game, and hiking with friends.
